Cheering Volunteering

Central Bedfordshire Council is honouring local volunteers with afternoon tea event.

Cheering Volunteering, in partnership with Community and Voluntary Service (CVS) and Beds RCC makes a welcome return and Central Bedfordshire Council is thrilled to announce an upcoming afternoon tea event dedicated to celebrating and expressing gratitude to our local volunteers.

This year, the event takes place on Thursday 27th June, from 5pm to 7.30pm at the Priory House Café, set in the council’s offices in Chicksands, Shefford and is sponsored by Grand Union Housing Group, Peabody Community Foundation and FCC Environmental.

Attendees will be joined by Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Bedfordshire Major Simon Sadler TD VR, the Chairman of the Council, Cllr Gareth Mackey and Cllr Rebecca Hares, Executive Member for Health and Community Liaison.

On arrival, volunteers will be given the option to join in with a ‘well-being walk’ in the nearby Campton Plantation before the start of the proceedings.

The event will provide an opportunity for volunteers to meet up, connect, share experiences, and celebrate their collective achievements.

The event is being laid on exclusively for up to 100 local volunteers, who can look forward to an afternoon filled with delicious treats, entertainment and heartfelt appreciation.
