Refugee Response Potton

Supporting Ukrainian Refugees

A group to support Ukrainian refugees hosted in the Parish has been set up by Potton Town Council and is constituted by council members, St Mary’s Church members and key members of the Potton Community.

The aims of the Potton Ukraine Response Group are to support both Ukrainian refugees and their hosts. We are keen to ensure that prospective hosts can find their way through the vetting process and are able to access various support groups on Facebook. We also want to ensure that our Ukrainian guests feel welcome in Potton and can access everything that they need during their stay with us.

If you want to offer a home to people fleeing Ukraine, you can become a ‘sponsor’ as part of the Homes for Ukraine scheme.

There is guidance for sponsors from the government:

CBC has set up a really useful page on their website.  Click here to visit the page.

This provides useful guidance and support both in sponsoring a Ukrainian refugee and what to do when they arrive.
