  • Essential life saving equipment installed at Henry Smith Playing Fields 25 August 2023

    Potton Town Council has installed its new essential life saving equipment at Henry Smith Playing Fields today.

    The Reach and Rescue long-reach, telescopic water rescue poles and equipment enable emergency services, search and rescue teams and the public to conduct swift, directionally accurate rescues by retrieving casualties from safe distances – minimising the danger posed to themselves whilst also boosting casualty survival chances.

    If you should need the equipment at any time, the instructions for use are on the board.

    Are your electoral registration details up to date?
    Annual canvass – July to November 2023
    What is the annual canvass?

    The canvass happens each year to ensure the electoral register is up to date and includes all those who are eligible to vote. You need to be registered to be able to vote in any election or referendum for which you are eligible. The electoral register is also used by credit reference agencies, so it is important that you are correctly registered at the property where you currently live.

    Being on the electoral register means you can vote in elections. With Police and Crime Elections taking place in our area next May, this is an important opportunity for residents to make sure you can take part.

    For people who have provided an email address, you’ll receive an email from: cbcelectoralregistration@notifications.service.gov.uk. Please respond to this as soon as you can. For everyone else, you will receive a letter addressed to the household from the middle of August. Please follow the instructions on the letter carefully.

  • Wild Clary Maintenance 19 May 2023

    The maintenance regime for the Wild Clary area has been suspended this year.  Following several years of the maintenance regime the wild clary needs to be cut regularly to stop it from spreading to other areas of the churchyard.  It is envisaged that approximately one year in four the maintenance regime of the Wild Clary will be suspended.

    We are a new but very friendly group and really need more helpers to join us fundraising for the lower and middle school in Potton. We meet monthly, please email PTFA@pottonfederation.co.uk with any questions or find our Facebook page here for info on events.

    We need help to sort and pack up the recycling collected in the bins by the Community Centre. This gets sent off to Terracycle, raising money for the Hall for All and saving plastic from going to landfill. We have regular meetings to do this and we need more helpers please.  Click here for dates.

    Potton Playhouse amateur dramatics is a really fun group and is in need volunteers for all sorts of support roles. The next performance is a Murder Mystery with shows on Friday 11th and Saturday 12th November.
